Do I need this for concrete fire pit with stones on outside?
Aluminum Key Valve Mounting Plate for Paver Fire Pits + Street Elbows
We are building a concrete fire pit where stones are being attached on the outside and it has a paver coping top. Is this mounting kit needed and if so is it installed by drilling into the concrete, obviously before stones are added to the outside?

This part is specifically for paver fire pits to sit in between the blocks. You could add it to your concrete fire pit as well but it's not needed.

You technically do not need this since you could install the key valve + escutcheon anywhere on the outside of your fire pit but you could definitely incorporate this into your build if you like the look.
