Yes, the Zion and Glacier are steel so they can handle more heat. The tops of either steel or concrete will both get hot, steel will be a little hotter. It all depends on how long and hot you run the fire. However, the sides of the fire pit don't get hot. We explain it in more detail in THIS VIDEO.
