Can I install glass beads on a cross fire burner and come back later and install logs

You'll want to make sure that the glass beads and the logs don't come in contact with each other or the glass will melt. Best practice would be to put 3" of lava rock, then 1" of glass on top of that. If you'd like to add logs later, remove the glass in the center of the pit and place the logs on the lava rock. You can still use glass around the edge of the logs.
