I have a possible opening of 17"x36" Thinking about an H style or double tree. Recommends?

Since you don't need a plate, just select "No" on the plate option on the burner product page. Burner options for that size would be 160K H-style, 200K H-style, 230K Tree Style. They all work well, just pick based on your heat requirements.
